Lecture Overview
The course will educate you on setting up a Windows Server services starting with DNS, DHCP, Active Directory and Certificate Services. It will introduce you to basic management of Active Directory Group Policies as well as creating and managing Active Directory objects such as Users and Groups. The course will also cover files and folders such as sharing and NTFS permissions, as well using Print Server capabilities within Windows Server.

Objectives

  • Access to Windows Server media for installation
  • Basic Windows knowledge

Lecture Modules
Module 1 covers an introduction DNS within Windows Servers. This will also include configuring DNS.
Module 2 is all about DHCP within Windows Server. This will also include configuring DHCP.
Module 3 you’ll about Active Directory, as well as implementing it within Windows Server.
Module 4 will dig into the basic configuration and management of Certificate Services within Windows Servers.
Module 5 we’ll jump into leveraging Active Directory Group Policies. This will include an understanding of Organizational units, user accounts and computer accounts. This will also include understanding what a group policy is, and how they can be used.
Module 6 will dive into creating objects such as Organizational Units, Users, Groups and other objects. This will also include some basic PowerShell administration.
Module 7 discusses files and folders within Windows Server. This will include an introduction to NTFS permissions, as well as denying, allowing and applying permissions sets. This will also include creation of folder shares, as well as an introduction to Distributed File System (DFS).
Module 8 configuration and use of Print Services within Windows Server. This will include the setup and use of this service.
